Description
Antique Guernsey flagon of 1 pint capacity, heart shaped lid with twin acorn thumb piece. This style of flagon is know as 'type 1'.The lid bears the rubbed touchmarks and London label of Carter, who worked 1730-1770. It is thought that Carter was a Cornishman working in either Cornwall or London. There are also ownership initials 'NB' stamped on the lid.
The flagon is in excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish, note the clear linen mark on the inside where the top of the handle joins the body.
